Should he wear boots? NO! Sandals? NO! Slippers? NO! Running shoes? YES! YES! YES! Throughout the book, Grandpa lets Nevin choose which direction to walk in, what to play on at the park and, finally, what flowers to bring home for Nana. Nevin has fun getting to choose for himself, and he shows Grandpa that he might be little, but he knows a lot.

Mireille Messier is a Montreal-born, Ottawa-raised award-winning children’s writer with a background in broadcasting and theater. Before becoming an author, Mireille worked as a television and radio host, a director, a researcher, a book reviewer and a voice actress. Mireille has published over thirty books, some in French, others in English, for children of all ages, including No Horses in the House! and Nevin Knows. Her books have been selected for many literary awards including the Governor General Award, the Christopher award, the Blue Spruce, the Rocky Mountain award and the Tamarack award.
Elena Comte is a Canadian illustrator who loves to create artwork that communicates joy through color. She is inspired by the shapes that surround her in her daily life and likes simplifying to capture what’s essential. Her work is influenced by naive art, collages and gouache paintings.
